A DOCUMENTARY SERIES
We travelled to Romania with one goal: to understand the reality behind the country’s ongoing stray dog crisis and the hardships these dogs face every single day. With the entire trip organised by Stichting Le Woef, we were able to meet local rescuers, visit shelters and see first-hand what happens to dogs living on the streets and within the shelter system.
What started as a journey to understand the problem soon became a deeper look at the people, circumstances and systems behind it and the many dogs caught in the middle. Through the documentary, we hope to show not only the heartbreaking reality, but also the people working tirelessly to create change and the solutions that could help break the cycle.

Meet the inspiration behind
Dunya's Rescue Haven
During the premiere you will have the chance to meet Dunya, the inspiration behind Dunya's Rescue Haven. When we adopted her at just 10 months old, she weighed less than 15 kilos, wasn’t too keen on being touched, and spent her first days with us devouring every bit of food she could find. Fast forward to now, and she’s a completely different dog; sweet, cuddly, confident, and sometimes even too relaxed to bother eating right away.
We never imagined that adopting her would lead us to a husky family of four… or to starting our own rescue organisation. But she’s the reason behind it all, the inspiration for Dunya’s Rescue Haven. She’s truly that special ❤️
